About Miss Joey Albert

Of all the concert and recording artists of the Philippines in the eighties, it is perhaps Ms Albert, with her endearing performances and mellow love songs, who has touched the hearts of her audience the most.

After graduating from college in 1981 with a degree in Communication Arts, Joey pursued a music career singing with showbands doing the five star hotel circuit for two years. A stint at the prestigious Hyatt Regency Hotel in Manila opened the door for her major break - a record deal with one of Manila's top record companies. The recordings that followed led to a stellar career and numerous hit songs that made her the top female hitmaker of the eighties in the Philippines, the golden age of the Philippine music industry. Since then, Joey's songs have spanned over two generations of loyal listeners. Such hits include songs like “A Million Miles Away”, “Points of View” (duet with Pops Fernandez), “Yakapin Mo Ako”, “Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin”, “I Remember The Boy”, “Iisa Pa Lamang”, “It’s Over Now”, “Sa Iyo Lamang” and of course, the phenomenal “Tell Me”.

Twenty eight years of a highly successful music career has seen Joey through eleven record albums/CD's, television shows, movies, an ambassadress of goodwill title, product endorsements, guestings with foreign performers (including Julio Iglesias, El de Barge, David Pomeranz and Mike Francis), foreign concerts all around Southeast Asia and the United States and countless concerts all over the Philippines. and to top her list of achievements, Joey Albert has the distinction of being the first Filipino artist ever to release a CD in the Philippines.

In 1995, Ms. Albert went into hiatus, leaving a still soaring music career, to focus on her family life in Vancouver, Canada. But that couldn't stop Manila's Queen of love songs from her passion to sing as concerts in the United States and yearly trips back to Manila continued... and still do after almost three decades since Joey first stood on the big stage, people all over the world still yearn to hear her sing her sweet love songs.

Undeniably an icon in the Philippine music industry, Joey's songs will keep her in the hearts of many forever.

Ms Joey Albert's Special Guest: Mr Norman Mitchel (Comic Genius)
